Hey there!
Are you trying to keep your lean tissue mass up?
Did you know that drinking enough water is super important for achieving this goal?
Here are five common mindsets to drinking more water which I hear and why they actually are hindering your progress
1. "I don't like the taste of water."
Okay, fair enough. But did you know that adding a slice of lemon or cucumber can give your water some flavor without adding sugar or calories? Plus, if you drink water regularly, you may start to acquire a taste for it!
2. "I don't have time to drink water throughout the day."
It's understandable that you're busy, but sipping water throughout the day takes the same amount of time as sipping your favorite beverage - and it actually has less impact on your waistline!
3. "I don't need that much water, I'm not thirsty."
Thirst isn't the only indicator of hydration. You may not always feel thirsty, but your body still needs water to function properly - especially if you're working to maintain your lean muscle mass.
4. "I don't want to have to go to the bathroom so much."
It's true, drinking more water may mean more trips to the bathroom.
However, this is actually a good thing! It means your body is flushing out toxins and waste, which can help you feel better overall.
5. "I get enough fluids from other sources, like coffee and soda."
Unfortunately, caffeine and sugar-filled drinks don't actually count towards your daily water intake goal. They can actually dehydrate you more than hydrate you! So, if you're serious about maintaining your lean tissue mass, start tracking your water intake!
Bottom line: if you want to maintain your lean muscle mass, make sure you're drinking enough water. Don't let these common mindsets hold you back - you'll feel and look better with proper hydration!
